Mark & Trina, Don & Brenda, and Carrie & Dave are landowners in the Nanticoke area who, just as yourselves, are concerned about the effects of gas drilling in our area.
After attending an informational meeting in Whitney Point we realized that many members of our community really had no idea where to begin regarding dealing with the potential gas/energy companies who are coming into the area wanting landowners to sign a gas lease with them. After some consideration we made the decision to volunteer our time to try to help get our neighbors more informed and up to speed on some of the potential risks of just signing any gas lease the energy companies may submit to you for your signature.
Our Goal: To get our community more involved, to help our community to be more informed. and for our community to share their concerns (i.e., financial, environmental, liability issues, etc) with each other so we all can make informed decisions regarding signing a gas lease.
We're not against signing a gas lease. We just want to try to help others to understand what's going on in the area and the ramifications of just signing a boilerplate gas lease handed to you by one of the gas companies to sign.
